Life Lessons from Literature

Oh the Places You Will Go and the people you will see
Will serve as life lessons if you only take heed.
The Little Engine That Could taught me to never give up
To believe in myself when the going gets tough.
My eight-legged friend, Charlotte, is a role-model for life.
She taught me that true friendship means sacrifice.
Marguerite Johnson's example taught me perseverance and determination
To rise above circumstances with a song in my heart.
Joe from Little Women gave me the strength to be me
To make my own decisions no matter what others may think.
Then I met Forsaken whom God calls Beloved.
She reminds me daily that Master Potter's grace and mercy are sufficient.
The lessons learned from literature are ones I hold in my heart.
To build upon and cherish from me they will not depart.

MAZE OF WHY

Maze of Why

The only thing I can focus on right now is the incessant sound of my mind turning
the nauseating sensation of my stomach churning

What have I been doing all this time?
Why am I stuck in this maze of why?

Emotions and facts tossed together like a tumultuous ocean
While the concept of reality has gone somewhere beyond the sun


How do I continue when from this realm I have departed?
Or Have I?

Maybe the fantasy land was all those years gone by
There I go again floating back to WHY!

Living in the moment can be reckless
But living for others can leave us empty and  restless

Searching for that place where it all makes sense
That region where meeting other's expectations  is no longer fulfilling.

My heart is ready but my mind is not willing to release me from this maze.
To dissolve this blinding haze of this pestilent question of why.

Lost in a sea of right versus wrong
Focusing on the phrase instead of the song

This maze of why is never ending
Left wondering if or when
Speculating on what might have been
But as always in the end. 


The question is why?

This continuous train of thought could go on forever.
Answer to these question will I get?  Never!

The key to resolving this berating inquisition
Is to stand my ground and take a position.

Change my perspective
Look at things from another direction
Instead of why
 ask myself another question

That question is...

Why the H### not?

do I belong?

Unleashed Potentiality

Cranial overload

Temporal lobes just might implode.

Ten trillion conjectures invading each hemisphere

Whether to proceed or go in reverse is still not clear.

Contemplating stimulating all that has been suppressed

Should it be forever released or permanently laid to rest.

Vacillating between hither and yonder

So much potentiality should be pondered.

Traversing on to the next phase in life.

Learning from the asperity and strife.

Maturation of the mind, body, and soul

Aspiring to experience life before growing old.

Swindling the one who should come first.

Providing others water never quenching my own thirst.

Desiring to wade in an sea of success.

Inhibiting personal growth to sustain the rest.

Ancillary capabilities stuck inside the abyss.

Electing to be the anchor rather than the mast on a ship.

Lifetime

People come and go
But true friends last forever.
Some travel from shore to shore
But from your heart they leave never.

They are there to catch you when you fall
Giving you support through it all
Help you out when spirits are low.
A place to rest when there's no where to go.

Thanks for always being there
For always being a true friend
You will always be in my heart
Now and until the end.

Things in life had gone awry
My spirit's were lifted to a new high
A smile has taken over my face
Joy in an empty place

Moments of basking and bliss
Memories of a passionate kiss
Comfort of being in your presence
Our auras are both incandescent

Emitting a light of years of desire
Did we douce or fuel the fire?
Only time will tell but this we know
Our bond and friendship will always show

A light that will eternally shine
A link between your spirit and mine.
Just because others may come and go
What we have can not be measured by anyone below

The heavens, the moon, and the stars
Venus, Jupiter and Mars
These heavenly bodies are mysteries to man
Just as our bond is one that even we do not understand

The step we took toward the flame
Left us in a place were we can never be the same
The fire may never blaze for all to 

 Like it or not it will burn eternally.


Know Me

All of me is something you earn

To truly see me you must yearn

For the things that make me complete

If knowing me is what you seek

Take time to listen and respond

Willing to let go of self and go beyond

Looking past what I give of me

On to what I long to be

No matter how simple I try to appear

Reach for the things about me that I keep near

Search my soul, listen to my fears

Look past the smile that hides the tears

If you don't take the time

You will never know

The me that you long for

The things I don't show

So the choice is yours

It's all up to you

Remain clueless on the shores

Or sail with me on the ocean blue.

Life is so full of hills and valleys

Both good and bad develop character

The choices we make determine our destiny

So for your outcome, you can't blame me

We live and we learn

As time goes by

So why not be true to ourselves

And stop living a lie.

Deception is dark,

Honesty is light

Truth makes mountains easier to climb

In the valley is where truth lies

Hold on to the good
